Press Release

Client: Wolkow Braker Roofing Corp
What Was the Task?
The client wanted to formally announce a merger/acquisition of a competitor. The goal was to create a clean, clear press release that could also be shared with their clients and contacts, as well as a wider press release for the local news media.
What was the approach?
To ensure that the approach was in line with other similar industry press releases, I researched roofing/construction press releases and noted their format, tone, and approach. In this case, both companies involved in the merger had long family histories, so the goal of the press release was to highlight their individual histories and successes, while looking at the strengths and benefits they now have as a larger, stronger company. I also made sure to include a warm, positive quote from the leaders of each company to illuminate that the merger was viewed in a positive light by both entities.
Crusader Magazine
What was the task?
In my current position, I am responsible for creation and distribution of our bi-annual magazine. I serve as the project manager for this crucial marketing piece for our school, which is distributed to all current families, alumni, and donors. The goal is to highlight our educational program and maintain connections with our alumni and donor base. Each issue needs to be unique, but also have recurring features.
What was the approach?
First, my designer and I determine the date that the issue needs to get to the printer, and we work backwards to establish deadlines and benchmarks for the project. I work with my internal team to determine the content needed for the issue – what to highlight, who will write it, and what the deadlines for submission are. Once I receive content from the team, I write and edit so that our issue has a uniform voice and tone. I source images for each article, bringing in a photographer as needed to supplement any images we already have. Then, I submit all content to the designer, and we generally have two full rounds of edits until we arrive at the final product, ensuring that the internal team has time to proof and provide feedback on the project.
Social Media Content and Campaigns
What was the Task: To create a social media campaign for the month of July – a key month for admissions, but a month where school is not in session.
What was the approach? I made a list of 31 reasons that someone might choose the school, and created post each day. The post had an engaging photo, a branded photo template, and a compelling caption. The 31 posts are captured on the page linked here.
Mission and Core Values

What was the task? The company did not have a mission statement or core values. After much company growth and expansion, they desired to create these items to help solidify their identity.
What was the approach? I worked the team on research, developing descriptors and phrases, and wordsmithing the items to develop one mission statement and four core values that truly align with the goals and identity of the company.
